What track should you submit to?

DrupalCon’s overall programming now encompasses many conferences in one, and the conference you participate in depends on who you are and how your role uses Drupal.

You are free to submit a session to any track, but, obviously, you have a much better chance of your session being accepted if it is in a track relevant to the session's main topic. We may consult with you to move your session from one track to another.

Please review the track descriptions to decide which topics you'd like to share your knowledge on. You can also find individual pages for each track on the conference website:

Submissions are required to select up to three submission tags to assist with categorizing the content of the proposal.

  • Content & Marketing
  • Developer Relations & Integrations
  • Development & Coding
  • DevOps
  • Drupal & Open Source 101
  • Drupal Showcase Leadership
  • Management & Business
  • Modern JavaScript
  • Other CMS / Beyond Drupal
  • User Experience, Accessibility & Design
What can be submitted?
  • Session (20 minutes)

A session refers to a presentation lasting 20 minutes, delivered by one main speaker with the option to include co-speakers. These concise talks are perfect for sharing focused insights, specific ideas, or innovative solutions.

  • Session (45 minutes)

A session lasting 45 minutes allows for a more in-depth exploration of a topic, offering the opportunity to present a detailed case study, research findings, or an innovative approach. These sessions include one main speaker and optional co-speakers.

  • Panel (45 minutes)

A panel discussion features a group of individuals with diverse perspectives discussing a specific topic or issue. Each panelist shares insights, answers questions, and engages in conversation, providing a well-rounded exploration of the subject. A moderator facilitates the discussion, ensuring a dynamic and informative exchange of ideas. We recommend that the moderator submit the panel discussion proposal.

  • Workshops (45 minutes or 2x45 minutes)

A workshop is a session where participants engage in hands-on activities, discussions, and practical exercises to learn and develop specific skills. Facilitated by an expert, workshops are designed to foster collaboration, problem-solving, and experiential learning within a focused timeframe. They provide a practical and immersive environment for skill-building and knowledge acquisition.

Speaker Benefits

Free registration to the conference: Although we do not financially compensate speakers for preparing a session submission or presenting a session, we are happy to offer one DrupalCon ticket per selected session. As a speaker, you’ll receive complimentary access to all conference sessions, workshops, and activities, ensuring you can fully engage with the Drupal community.

Note: if you are co-presenting with someone else, your session will still receive only one ticket, not two. Speakers pay their own travel and lodging expenses incurred while traveling to and attending the conference.

Promotion as a speaker: Gain visibility within the Drupal community through featured spots on our website, social media channels, and event materials, showcasing your expertise and contribution.

Submission Requirements

Before submitting a session, we recommend that you read the following information:

  • Familiarize yourself with the conference Code of Conduct. All speakers must adhere to this code.

  • Read and agree to our Speaker Agreement.

  • During the review process, we may request you to submit additional information about your session to ensure a more thorough evaluation.

  • The independent working committee will review your submission to ensure that your profile complies with the speaker agreement and code of conduct.
