Accessibility Worst Practices

Christopher Torgalson (Bedlam)

Learn how to make your web content more accessible by studying the worst practices from WebAIM's Million survey!

Prerequisite

Attendees should have a good grasp of

- why accessibility matters
- the purpose of the WCAG
- HTML and some CSS

Target Audience

Developers, editors, site-builders: both people building sites in Drupal, and people creating content in Drupal

Outline

HTML has good accessibility by default, but with a little extra effort, we can make our web content less easily available to everyone.

If you'd rather make your content more accessible instead, join us for a look at a few of the worst practices revealed by the 2026 WebAIM Million survey, what to do about them, and better development approaches to accessibility in general

Learning Objectives

Attendees can expect to:

- understand what options are available in Drupal to address
- understand the WCAG success criteria used to evaluate improvements
