Outline
Building a community is hard. Keeping it going over time is even harder.
Over the past few years of organizing Drupal meetups, camps, and contributing to DrupalCon, I’ve experienced both the energy and the pressure that come with community work. What looks vibrant from the outside often depends on a few individuals consistently showing up and holding things together.
While much of our focus was once on reviving and growing the community, sustaining that momentum over time has brought a new set of challenges.
In this session, I’ll share an honest look at what community organizing really feels like the pressure to sustain momentum, the challenges of shared ownership, and the moments where it can become overwhelming.
More importantly, I’ll reflect on what we’ve been learning along the way and how it’s shaping the way we think about building more sustainable communities.
