World Cancer Day and Mars: Using Drupal to drive global impact and reinvent digital experiences
Charles Andrew Revkin (Revkin), Anthony Bojocan
Charles Revkin is Senior Digital Strategy Manager at the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), working at the intersection of communications, marketing and technology to strengthen the organisation's global digital platforms and campaigns.
World Cancer Day, held annually on 4 February, mobilises people, organisations and governments in more than 100 countries. As hundreds of thousands engage with the campaign online each year, UICC faces the challenge of managing and publishing large volumes of user-generated content during peak periods.
In this keynote, Charles will tell the story of how UICC explored the use of Drupal AI to support one of the most demanding aspects of the campaign: managing a surge of user-generated stories submitted during peak engagement periods. He will share the opportunities, challenges and lessons that emerged along the way, highlighting how AI can assist content moderation and publishing workflows while keeping people firmly at the centre of decision-making.
Anthony is a digital leader and platform innovator at Mars, overseeing the technical architecture and strategy of a massive multi-brand ecosystem. He specializes in driving enterprise-scale CMS adoption and empowering marketing teams to work independently.
Anthony will explain how Mars found the right solution to a persistent enterprise challenge by reinventing the editorial experience from the ground up. Managing over 350 websites, they will discuss Mars' bold investment in Drupal Canvas. They will show how this new component-based approach unlocked Drupal’s power for marketers, creative agencies, and brand teams, allowing non-technical users to build and manage digital experiences independently and effectively at scale.
