What are Birds of a Feather (BoF) Sessions?

Discuss Drupal and other technology-related topics, gather together based on affinity, or meet fellow attendees with similar identities through informal birds of a feather (BoF) groups! BoFs don't need to be about the community or even Drupal, they may also be held to discuss coffee or knitting patterns. Have fun and learn! BoFs exist to provide attendees with an inclusive, informal environment in which to share ideas freely. BoFs can be serious, and a great way to gather the people you’ve been working with remotely on a project in a space to deep dive on a topic, but they can also be fun as well.

Why Attend a BoF Session?
  • Inclusivity and Informality: BoFs provide an inclusive, informal environment where attendees can freely share ideas. 
  • Community Building: Meet and network with others who share your interests, whether they are related to Drupal, technology, or personal hobbies. 
  • Flexibility: BoFs can be serious or fun, providing a space to dive deep into a topic or simply enjoy a casual conversation. 
A Bit of History

Drupal Europe was conceived in a series of BoF sessions, emphasizing their importance in fostering collaboration and innovation within the community. We continue this tradition by offering several BoF spaces at DrupalCon Barcelona 2024. 

How to Submit a BoF?

At the moment, all time slots are taken. 
 
Eligibility: Only registered DrupalCon Barcelona 2024 attendees can submit BoFs. 

  1. Sign In: Use your account email address and password to access the BoF Portal. 
  2. Not Registered Yet?: Register for DrupalCon Barcelona 2024 now to participate. 
  3. Submission Process: 
  • Submit your BoF as soon as possible, and at least 24 hours before the scheduled time. 
  • BoF sessions are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. 
  • The portal will close once all rooms are booked or by Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 6pm (CEST). 

     
Important Tips
  • Check the Schedule: Ensure you know which room your BoF is taking place in and join the corresponding room. 
  • Missed the 24-hour Deadline? Check the schedule for available rooms onsite and use one if it’s free. 
  • Timeslot Conflicts: If your chosen timeslot is already booked, we will contact you by email to select another convenient timeslot. 
Rules and Conditions

BoFs are for discussion rather than formal presentations or sales pitches and must follow the DrupalCon Code of Conduct. BoFs are accessible to all, however attendees must respect boundaries communicated in the BoF title and description. We reserve the right to remove BoFs which violate the Code of Conduct, appear offensive, presentation-driven, or sales-focused.

Registrants who add BoFs are volunteering to act as a BoF facilitator. BoF facilitators should be in the room on time, welcome attendees, encourage participation, and help to guide the discussion.
